“When I got to know “Music Supervising” in the USA in the 1980s, I was fascinated by the holistic task and founded DAYDREAM in 1989. On behalf of production as a “music person”, managing the legal, economic and content strands up to the creation of value for the producer made increasing sense in Germany as well. Over the years, we have of course had to adapt our working methods to local economic opportunities. And continue to improve the implementation as the connection between production, direction and music. This has now resulted in a network of regular partners for whom we have become a permanent institution when it comes to music issues.”

    Onboarding for optimal collaboration

Find out how working with DAYDREAM at an early stage ensures your project success.

Early contact doesn't just help for reliable figures!

Even during the financing phase, we can often provide legal, economic and content experience in music based on the available key data and screenplays, which helps with planning.

Analyze the script in good time before shooting!

We scoff at screenplays and like to talk about initial music ideas with decision makers. We identify musical uses in books and provide assessments of them. In particular, if you want to shoot a song in ON, early communication can be a significant relief.

    Communicate with musicians through us!

Whether a film composer or other music partner. We achieve optimal negotiation results with long-standing partners because they communicate with us. If possible, before a personnel or content decision has already been made to the partner. After that, it is often difficult to achieve the desired result.

    We provide diplomatic advice...

We support creative decision makers exactly where they want it. In doing so, we fully respect the director's decision-making processes and provide transparent information about economic aspects when selecting original songs.

Would you like suggestions for the picture?

Producer, director, and editing room should be aware of the process if we are to make creative suggestions. The music is created as optimally as possible using ProTools.

Short-term income and long-term value creation

DAYDREAM has been successfully founding and managing music publishers for now 50 TV and film producers for three decades. Here too, the earlier, the more coherent the music or score productions can result in a publishing connection with composers. With its software, our administration is excellently positioned by international standards.

    Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our music supervising services.

What does a music publisher do?

A music publisher manages and markets the copyrights of composers and songwriters. DAYDREAM has founded over 50 publishers and takes care of GEMA registration, licensing, rights management and the worldwide marketing of musical works. We ensure that authors are fairly remunerated and that their works are optimally exploited — from the initial idea to international marketing.

Can you also help with soundtrack marketing?

Of course! As a full-service agency, we also take on the marketing and distribution of soundtracks. From digital distribution to physical release and professional radio sampling — we ensure that your film music reaches the audience and is optimally marketed.

Do you also work with international productions?

Yes, absolutely! With over 30 years of experience, we have built up a worldwide network and work regularly with international productions. Our team is familiar with the various legal systems and licensing models of different countries.

What are the costs of music supervising?

The costs depend on the scope of the project, the desired music and the license fees. We prepare an individual offer for each project and provide you with transparent advice on all costs involved — from our services to music rights.

How long does a typical project take?

The duration of the project varies depending on the scope and complexity. Movies usually take 6-12 months from initial consultation to final delivery, while TV productions can often be realized in 2-4 months. We will guide you through all phases of production.

    What is music supervising?

Music supervising includes the creative and administrative support of all musical aspects of a film or TV production. This includes selecting and licensing music, working with composers, coordinating all legal and budgetary aspects of film music, and radio sampling for optimal marketing of the soundtrack.
